Share your home address, workplace, financial details, identity documents, and family details slowly and only with people you have come to trust. There is no rush, and a genuine person will not pressure you.

People often move to messaging apps early. Be aware that once a conversation leaves SALINK, the context and any future protections here no longer apply. Move at your own pace.

Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or bank details simply because someone asks — no matter how urgent, emotional, or convincing the story is. This is the single most common way people are harmed.

• Romance scams: fast affection, then an emergency that needs money.
• Investment or crypto scams: a "guaranteed" opportunity from a new contact.
• Immigration or visa scams: promises of sponsorship, papers, or residency for a fee.
• Employment scams: job offers requiring an upfront payment or your documents.
• Identity scams: stolen photos, borrowed life stories, refusal to video call.

• Meet in a public place for the first several meetings.
• Arrange your own transport and keep your phone charged.
• Tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going and with whom.
• Leave whenever you feel uncomfortable — you never owe anyone an explanation.

If someone asks you for money, pressures you, threatens you, or behaves in a way that feels wrong, please report it. Reports help protect other people too.

Identity verification and background checks are not currently offered. Any future safety or verification feature will be described here only once it actually exists.
