Community Guidelines

SALINK connects people across countries, languages, and cultures. These guidelines describe the behaviour expected of everyone in the SALINK community.

Last updated: [Effective date to be added before launch]

Respect across cultures

Treat every person with respect regardless of nationality, ethnicity, culture, language, religion, gender, or background. Curiosity is welcome; contempt is not. Ask questions kindly and accept that people may see the world differently.

Be honest about who you are

Use your real information and state your real purpose. Impersonating someone else, using another person's photos, or hiding your intentions breaks the trust SALINK is built on.

No harassment

Do not threaten, intimidate, insult, stalk, or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop. "No" and silence are both answers.

No hate or discriminatory abuse

Content that attacks or degrades people because of who they are — including racist, religious, ethnic, or gender-based abuse — is not allowed.

No sexual harassment or coercion

Do not send sexual content to someone who has not asked for it, and never pressure, guilt, or coerce anyone into sexual conversation, images, or contact.

No scams or fraud

Requests for money, gifts, cryptocurrency, bank details, investment opportunities, or fees of any kind have no place on SALINK. Do not promise visas, jobs, or immigration outcomes in exchange for money or favours.

Protect other people's privacy

Do not share another person's photos, messages, contact details, address, workplace, or other private information without their clear permission.

No spam or exploitation

No bulk messaging, advertising, recruitment schemes, or link farming. Do not manipulate or take advantage of people who are lonely, new to a country, or unfamiliar with the language.

Good-faith language and cultural exchange

Be patient with learners. Correct gently, explain when asked, and remember that someone speaking their second or third language is doing something difficult.

Reporting and moderation

If someone breaks these guidelines, please report it so SALINK can look into it. A fuller reporting and moderation framework will be introduced as the service launches. SALINK may decline, restrict, or remove an application, profile, or future account where these guidelines are broken.
